Xialing Zheng started cello lessons at the age of five and received her BMus in 2004 at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music China. She was selected for the Asian Youth Orchestra in 1999 worked with Gil Shaham and performed in Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, and the USA. After she graduated from Sichuan Conservatory she participated in the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra for eight years, and was given opportunities to work with many of the world's leading artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Mischa Maisky, YoYo Ma, Maxim Vengerov, and Martha Argerich. She began to study cello with Inbal Megiddo in New Zealand School of Music from 2013 and was awarded a Director’s Scholarship to help fund further study in Post-Graduate Diploma in classical performance. After graduation from NZSM she was selected as a cello player in Wellington Orchestra. From February 2018 she has moved to Auckland and works as a full-time cello teacher in Music school in Auckland.

Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white-hot” and “very impressive.” She has appeared as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe at prestigious venues such as the Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Austria), Centro de Bellas Artes and Museo del Arte (Puerto Rico), Harris Hall (Aspen), Sarasota Opera House (Sarasota), the National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Bulgaria). She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic and with the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the 2006 Concerto Competition. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television, including WQXR, WITF and Bulgarian National Television. In 2010 she released the critically acclaimed CD Song to My Love with bassoonist Maria Wildhaber on MSR Records; a recording characterized in the press as “a fantastic release” and “highly recommended.” Their second CD, Eastern Discoveries, was released in the summer of 2014, also on MSR Records, and includes rarely recorded works for bassoon and piano by Eastern European composers. Ms. Tachkova earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts from Stony Brook University. Currently, she is on the piano faculty at the 92nd Street Y School of Music in New York City. Ms. Tachkova is a Steinway artist.

Dr. Scot A Humes is Associate Professor at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, joining the faculty in the fall of 2006. His duties include teaching applied Clarinet and Saxophone, Sophomore Aural Skills, and Form & Analysis.He is Principal Clarinet of the Monroe Symphony Orchestra (LA) and the Vashon Opera Orchestra (WA), and performs frequently in the clarinet sections of the Shreveport Symphony, Rapides Symphony, Lake Charles Symphony, and South Arkansas Symphony. As a soloist he has performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Peconic Chamber Orchestra, Frank Martin’s Concerto for 7 Wind Instruments, Percussion and String Orchestra with the Stony Brook Symphony under the direction of Leon Fleischer, C.M. von Weber’s Concertino on tour with the University of Louisiana at Monroe Wind Ensemble, and Weber Concerto No. 2 with the Monroe Symphony Orchestra. He has given numerous recitals and master classes throughout the country at schools such as Luther College, University of Southern Mississippi, Piedmont College, Winona State University, and Mississippi College, with performances at the International Clarinet Association conferences, the Southern Conference of the College Music Society, Michigan State University Clarinet Spectacular Day, and at the Gryperio Cultural Center in Mykonos, Greece. His activities as a clinician include presentations at the Louisiana Music Educators Association and Texas Music Educators Association conventions, the Mississippi Music Teachers Association, and adjudication for numerous chamber music and concerto competitions, as well as the Semi-Final round of the Young Artist Competition at conferences of the International Clarinet Association.
